The Roast Spectrum
Every bean tells a different story depending on how much heat it absorbs. Discover your perfect match by exploring our guide to roasts.

Light Roast
Bright, Floral, & Complex
Light roasts spend the least amount of time in the roaster. Their beans are light brown with no oil on the surface. Because they aren't roasted as long, they retain most of the original characteristics of the coffee's origin.
Flavor Profile: Expect a bright, vibrant cup with pronounced acidity. You'll often taste floral, citrus, and berry notes.
Best Brewed As: Pour Over (V60, Chemex) or Aeropress to highlight the delicate flavors.
Medium Roast
Balanced, Smooth, & Sweet
The perfect middle ground. Medium roasts are medium brown and rarely have an oily surface. They offer a beautiful harmony between the origin characteristics and the rich, caramelizing flavors introduced by roasting.
Flavor Profile: A well-rounded, balanced cup with a slightly sweeter, richer flavor. Expect notes of chocolate, caramel, and toasted nuts with a subdued acidity.
Best Brewed As: French Press, Drip coffee, or a smooth Espresso.

Dark Roast
Bold, Rich, & Intense
Dark beans are roasted for the longest time, resulting in a dark brown or almost black color with a shiny, oily surface. The flavor of the roast itself dominates, overshadowing the origin flavors of the bean.
Flavor Profile: Bold, heavy body, and low acidity. You'll find pronounced smoky, bitter-sweet, and deep cocoa notes.
Best Brewed As: Espresso, Moka Pot, or paired perfectly with milk for Lattes and Cappuccinos.
